ASIM PIR Traffic Detectors IR 30x Series
The dynamic ASIM Passive Infrared (PIR) Traffic Detectors IR 301, 303 and 308 are designed for the detection of vehicles for the request and extension of the green phase in traffic dependent intersection controls. They detect people, animals and other objects in its volumetric detection area by their movement and positive or negative temperature contrast against the background. In standard mode, the detector generates output pulses as long as movement of people or vehicles is detected within the field of view. When the movement stops, the output will reset.

The detectors are typically mounted on top of a signal head, gantry or bridge and aimed to face the approaching traffic or cover a pedestrian crossing.
The output will be activated as long as movement is detected in the field of view.
The IR 308 model can be used for detection of pedestrians. It also is used in mobile traffic signal installations where a precise alignment can not necessarily be guaranteed.
